Dare to learn – Embrace change

“Don’t let the fear of failing stop you from even trying.” That’s been my mantra for a couple of years now, and it’s opened doors to amazing new paths. You can’t even fail going vegan – it’s simply something to strive for. For me, it continues to open my eyes and mind to a belief system that until now was hiding in plain sight. We don’t have to eat animals or animal secretions just because we’ve always done it or because everyone else seems to be doing it. It’s amazing on this side, and we’ve never felt better. Saying goodbye to asthma, high cholesterol, allergies, and weight issues have been a nice bonus, but opening our hearts to compassion for ourselves, for our family and friends, for animals, and for the planet, we all share has been the true gift.

How to go Vegan with kids | Dare to Learn and embrace change

Here are some of the enlightening movies and talks that changed my world for the better.  I have to be honest and say that I was very hesitant at first to hit play and dig in. I knew my ignorance was bliss and to be honest it took me a long time to build up the courage to take the time and sit down with my eyes and heart wide open. So many excuses for why I couldn’t watch these movies were spinning in my head: “I don’t have time”, “I can’t make a change now anyway”, “I have kids”, “I’m too tired” and on and on. Haha! Now my only regret is that I didn’t watch them sooner.

Movies

So, here are some of my favorite most life-changing movies, maybe they can change yours too.

  1. Forks over Knives
  2. Food Choices
  3. Vegucated
  4. Cowspiracy
  5. Earthlings

I also really recommend watching this short movie by Mercy for Animals, because it had such a unique view and it opened my eyes to what is going on behind the scenes.

Presentations

Furthermore, I would highly recommend watching these presentations on YouTube, because in a short amount of time from the comfort of your home you can get this completely new perspective of how we see life, animals and our choices.

Dare to learn new things and going outside of my comfort zone was what made going vegan so surprisingly easy for me. Expanding my current view and seeing that change can be fun! There’s a whole new world out there that I wasn’t even aware of and it’s so exciting. Every day I get to learn something new. A new delicious vegan recipe for dinner, finding out about a new plant-based restaurant in the neighborhood or the feeling of joy seeing that I can find something tasty and delicious at my old favorite restaurant too. The world is going vegan and it’s such a pleasure to be a part of this journey.

Take some time for yourself today and see what these movies and talks have to offer. It will be the beginning of the best chapter of your life. Change is wonderful!
